Two days after issuing an invitation to bid for the supply and delivery of ham and cheese worth P4.27 million for its central office Christmas celebration, the Department of Education (DepEd) canceled the bidding, saying the funds would be realigned to victims of Typhoons 鈥淩olly鈥� and 鈥淯lysses鈥� and DepEd鈥檚 response to the pandemic. 鈥淚t is inappropriate at this time when our employees are severely affected by recent disasters,鈥� June Arvin Gudoy, public affairs services director, said. 鈥淭he welfare of our teachers and learners remain to be our priority,鈥� he said. 鈥擭ikka G.
