3 houses ‘partially damaged’ in Occidental Mindoro after Christmas quake
MANILA, Philippines — Three houses in Lubang Island, Occidental Mindoro were partially damaged after the magnitude 6.3 earthquake rocked several Luzon areas on Friday morning, Christmas Day, a local government official said.
“Sa report sa staff ng DRRMO [Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office] sa Lubang, ay ito pong tatlo pong ito ay kabahayan,” said Mario Mulingbayan, chief of Occidental Mindoro Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), over an interview with ABS-CBN Teleradyo when asked about damages in their area due to the quake.

“Nag-iikot po ang ating kawani sa Lubang maging dito sa mainland naghahanap ng impormasyon ang kawani ng DRRMO. Sa ngayon, ito pong tatlo ay houses po, hindi po siya imprastruktura na related sa edukasyon o ano mang building,” Mulingbayan added.
(They are inspecting Lubang Island even here in mainland they are looking for information. For now, these are three houses, they are not infrastructure or schools or any kind of building.)
“Sa ngayon, tatlong bahay ang may naiulat na may partial damage,” he further said.

“So far naman, ay nakatutuwa naman pong balita, sa ngayon, walang tao na nasaktan walang nangyaring masama sa ating kababayan,” he said.

Earlier, a magnitude 6.3 quake hit several Luzon areas. Its epicenter was located at Calatagan, Batangas.
The tremor was felt as Intensity III in Occidental Mindoro.
