DELFIN ALBANO, Isabela—The town’s deputy police chief and three other persons in authority were removed from their posts and faced administrative charges for alcoholic drink consumption in the town’s police station and theft of an Armalite rifle, authorities said on Friday (Jan. 8).

Sacked was Lt. Noel Baccay, who was caught drinking wine with his brother-in-law, San Nicolas village chief Dario Reyes Jr. and two other village officials—councilman Vicente Maddara Jr. and watchman Jimboy Managuelod.

Capt. Fresiel Dela Cruz, the town’s police chief, said Baccay would also be demoted and suspended without pay.
