1,941 new virus infections raise PH total Covid cases to 535,521

MANILA, Philippines — Philippines recorded 1,941 additional patients infected with the coronavirus disease, bringing the total sum of the country’s cases to 535,521.

The Department of Health’s Saturday case bulletin showed that 35,946 or 6.7 percent of total Covid-19 cases are considered active.

Of the total active cases, 88.4 percent are mild, 6.8 percent are asymptomatic, 2.2 percent are critical, 2.1 percent are severe, and 0.48 percent are moderate.

Meanwhile, 234 more Filipinos recovered from the severe respiratory disease while 52 additional Covid-19 deaths were documented. This brings the total count of recoveries and deaths to 488,465 and 11,110, respectively.
