A project that adopts the Food Always in the Home principle for Marikina watershed communities has been launched by PLDT in partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP).
The pilot partner for the project is the Nagkakaisang Samahang Magsasaka sa Barangay Calawis in Antipolo City. It is one of PBSP鈥檚 seven partner organizations in the area 鈥渢hat have been working harder after Typhoon 鈥淯lysses鈥� (international name: Vamco) damaged their crops last November,鈥� said Kristine Rivadelo, director for operations of PBSP OIC.
The project is aimed at providing a continuous source of vegetables for the community through a 500-square-meter communal garden where a vermicompost facility will also be installed.
The PLDT-PBSP partnership has opened many opportunities for growth, said Katherine Diaz de Rivera, head of PLDT community relations.
