MANILA, Philippines — Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, Sorsogon, Albay, and Catanduanes will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies, the state weather bureau said Wednesday afternoon.

Easterlies are warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will also be observed in Batanes and Babuyan Islands, according to the 4 p.m. weather forecast issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa warned that flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to at times heavy rains or during severe thunderstorms.

In its Wednesday morning forecast, Pagasa said that the La Niña phenomenon in the country is already weakening, which means fewer rains and normal weather can be expected by May.
