WATCH: Defensor, Marcoleta lead ivermectin distribution in Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines – Anakalusugan Partylist Rep. Mike Defensor and Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta led the distribution of the antiparasitic drug ivermectin at the barangay hall of Barangay (village) Matandang Balara in Quezon City Thursday.
Radyo Inquirer interviewed the two lawmakers, Dr. Iggy Agbayani, president of the Concerned Doctors and Citizens of the Philippines, and one of the recipients of the antiparasitic drug.
Defensor said doctors have given the drug’s recipients prescriptions and that those who received the drug gave their “informed consent” and voluntarily went to the barangay hall to get their free ivermectin pack.
Each recipient received 10 pieces of ivermectin capsules or the equivalent of one pack.
Earlier, the Department of Health reminded the public that only hospitals that were granted special permits could give ivermectin to COVID-19 patients.
