Woman who rejected COVID-19 vaccine urged public to get vaccinated before she died
A woman who previously refused to get vaccinated against COVID-19 urged the public to get a shot just a few hours before succumbing to the virus in Montreal, Canada.
Gisele Beaudoin, a singer from Quebec, died due to COVID-19 last Sunday, May 2, as per CTV ºÚÁÏÉç the next day. Her sister Monic shared Gisele’s last message via Facebook on Saturday, hours before her death.
“She asked me to tell all of you to get vaccinated because she didn’t believe,” Monic in French as translated by the news outlet.
“Like some of you, she was a conspiracy theorist and anti-masker,” she was quoted as saying.
Gisele died after four days of battling COVID-19, according to the report. Among her last wishes was for her husband to get vaccinated, and he will reportedly be receiving it soon.
Article continues after this advertisementIn a previous interview with Journal de Montreal, Monic said her sister was caught in a web of conspiracy theories found on social media against COVID-19 vaccines.
Article continues after this advertisement“She would get up at 4 a.m. to watch all the videos of these people and send them to us on Facebook,” she said as quoted by the newspaper.
Social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram have enforced to try to curb the spread of false information regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, but still cannot fully purge it from the internet.
