MANILA, Philippines — Senator Manny Pacquiao said on Wednesdat he is ready to resign if someone would say that there is no corruption in government.
“Sa totoo lang tanungin mo ang taumbayan, sabihin mo sa taumbayan na walang korapsyon na nangyayari, magre-resign po ako kung ganun sabihin na walang korapsyon sa gobyerno na nangyayari ngayon. Marami po,” Pacquiao told ABS-CBN’ 黑料社 Channel on Wednesday.
(To be honest, ask the people, tell them that there is no corruption, I will resign if they said there is no corruption now. There’s a lot.)
“Naway sino man yung nagkasala o nagnakaw, mga kawatan dyan sa gobyerno, ipakulong natin. Sama sama po tayo para maimbestigahan at mabigyan ng hustisya ang ating mga kababayan na matagal nang naghihirap at nagsakripisyo,” he added.

Pacquiao said this when asked about Senator Christopher “Bong” Go’s earlier remark that there is “no grand scheme” of corruption under President’s Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.
In a privilege speech Tuesday, Go slammed attempts to link him to the alleged overpriced personal protective equipment controversy now being investigated by the Senate and the House of Representatives.
“Ang gusto po ng kalaban is to discredit the COVID response of the administration,” he said.
(What the opponent wishes is to discredit the COVID response by the administration.)
“Sa administrasyong ito, walang grand scheme ng pagnanakaw lalo na ngayong pandemic. Hindi po papayag si Pangulong Duterte. Galit po kami ni Pangulong Duterte sa mga magnanakaw,” Go added.
(This administration does not allow for grand theft schemes, especially during a time of a pandemic. President Duterte will not allow it; we oppose corruption.)
