TUGUEGARAO CITY—This city was placed on a less strict general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions for October, but local officials said health protocols would remain.

In an advisory Friday, Oct. 1, Mayor Jefferson Soriano said several villages in the city continued to experience community transmission of COVID-19, which would require stricter monitoring of the people’s movements.

The city was previously under the more restrictive modified enhanced community quarantine from Sept. 23 to 30.

Since last year, the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city climbed to 13,941 with 12,723 recoveries.
