Duterte OKs P5K gratuity pay for JO, COS workers in gov’t for 2021

MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the granting of a one-time P5,000 gratuity pay to contract of service (COS) and job order (JO) government workers for 2021.

Under Administrative Order No. 46, which Duterte signed on Wednesday, workers who have rendered a total or aggregate of at least four months of service as of Dec. 15 can avail of the P5,000 gratuity pay.

Those who have rendered less than four months of service, meanwhile, may receive their gratuity pay on a pro-rata basis.

Actual service refers to services rendered on-site, the order read.

All workers in national agencies, state universities and colleges, government-owned or -controlled corporations, and local water districts are qualified for the gratuity pay.

For its part, local government units are enjoined to adopt the grant of gratuity pay to workers, using appropriate and available funding from their funds.
