PH logs 109 new COVID-19 cases; active down to 3,328

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 109 new infections were recorded by the Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday, as shown in the on its website.
This is significantly lower than the average cases recorded the previous week from May 2 to 8, which was 168 cases per day, with a total of 1,124 infections.
Active infections, on the other hand, decreased further to 3,328.
With this, the total number of confirmed infections is 3,687,428 nationwide, with 3,623,661 recoveries and 60,439 deaths.
The total number of tested individuals on Saturday, May 10, total 17,662.
Independent think tank OCTA Research earlier warned that Metro Manila could see around 500 to 1,000 new COVID-19 cases per day should the coronavirus transmission increase after the May 9 elections.
