New COVID-19 cases in Pampanga’s capital hit another peak

New COVID-19 cases in Pampanga's capital hit another peak

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — The San Fernando City registered 24 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, July 6, local data showed.

The figure is the capital city’s highest number of daily infections this year.

In its latest update, the city government said 22 new recoveries and zero deaths were also recorded on Wednesday. Its active cases stood at 77.

The new cases are residents of Telabastagan village (4), Dolores (3), Saguin (3), Lourdes (2), and San Agustin (2).

The villages of Alasas, Del Rosario, Juliana, Magliman, Maimpis, Malpitic, Panipuan, San Isidro, San Nicolas, and Sindalan have each a single new case.

Last week, San Fernando City sounded the alarm about the rising cases of the viral disease. It has reminded the public to take the necessary precautionary measures.

The city government has advised residents and people who work, study or visit the capital city to always wear face masks and observe physical distancing and frequent hand washing.

“Fernandinos, cases of COVID-19 rose again. Everybody is advised to remain cautious against COVID-19,” the city government said on its social media page.

Since the pandemic began in 2020, a total of 14,486 residents of San Fernando have contracted the viral disease. Of these, 14,067 have recovered while 342 have died.
