MANILA, Philippines — An additional 2,778 COVID-19 infections were logged by the Department of Health (DOH) on Monday, raising the current active tally to 27,625.
The new infections also raised the country’s total caseload to 3,755,403 nationwide, with 3,667,084 recoveries and 60,694 deaths, based on the DOH’s COVID-19 tracker on its .
The new cases, meanwhile, were slightly lower than the average daily cases recorded from July 18 to 24 at 2,791.
As shown in the tracker, Metro Manila continued to have the highest number of infections per region in the last two weeks with 12,440 cases, followed by Calabarzon with 7,876, and Central Luzon with 3,600.
On the other hand, Quezon City topped the list of areas with the most reported cases in the last two weeks at 2,710, followed by Cavite at 2,623 and Laguna with 2,027.
Meanwhile, the tracker also showed that only 18,187 individuals were recorded to have been tested for COVID-19 on Sunday, July 24 nationwide — this is supposed to reflect Tuesday’s tallied number.
