Biliran town mayor contracts COVID-19
TACLOBAN CITY — The mayor of Naval town in Biliran province has acquired COVID-19 and is now under isolation.
Mayor Gretchen Stephanie Espina was confined in a private hospital in the city but was already in stable condition, according to the local government in a post on social media on Monday.
“Contact tracing is now ongoing,” the local government said.
Espina’s older brother, Gov. Gerard Espina, said his son also tested positive for coronavirus.
“I will be isolating myself for the next following days until I’m medically cleared,” he said on his Facebook post.
