1,420 Camarines Norte evacuees allowed to return home

LEGAZPI CITY — More than 1,420 evacuees in Camarines Norte were allowed to return home Monday as Typhoon Karding (international name: Noru) weakened.

Gremil Alexis Naz, Office of Civil Defense-Bicol spokesperson, said the local governments started to decamp 336 families, or 1,420 persons, evacuated on Sunday from 10 towns.

Naz also said that 111 tourists stranded on Calaguas Island had yet to return to the mainland as of 8 a.m. due to the strong waves.
