MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Karding (international name: Noru) has been steadily edging away from the Philippines, and the state weather bureau has lifted all wind signals over Luzon ahead of the typhoon’s anticipated exit from the Philippine area of responsibility on Monday evening.

But the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) noted that Karding slightly intensified as it moved towards Vietnam.

It was last located 425 kilometers west of Dagupan City, Pangasinan, as of 4:00 p.m.

“Karding will continue moving its westward track towards Vietnam. On the track forecast, it will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility tonight,” said Pagasa in its latest forecast.

Pagasa also warned that occasional monsoon rains are still possible in the next 24 hours over the western sections of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and the Visayas.

Meanwhile, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are forecast over Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Aurora, Quezon, Occidental Mindoro, and Western Visayas due to the southwest monsoon, as well as the trough of Karding.

On the other hand, the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy skies due to the southwest monsoon.
