MANILA, Philippines — While there is still no traslación in 2023, the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene, commonly known as the Quiapo Church, announced on Thursday the schedule of activities tied with the celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene.

“Dahil naririto pa rin ang COVID, hindi pa rin gaganapin ang Traslacion sa Enero 2023,” said during a media event.

“Subalit magpapatuloy ang pagdiriwang ng pinalawak na Kapistahan saan man may deboto ng Hesus Poong Nazareno sa buong bansa at ibayong dagat,” they added.

(However, celebrating the expanded Feast will continue wherever there are devotees of Jesus the Lord of Nazareth throughout the country and abroad.)

With this, the Quiapo Church told the public that instead of the usual traslación, the church would bring the Nazarene to different barangays, sectors, and communities — an event they tagged as the “pagdalaw” (visit).

Live-streaming of Masses in Quiapo will also continue daily and hourly on the Feast day.

A procession — the “Walk of Faith” — will also be conducted on Jan. 8 but without the Black Nazarene. Devotees, however, may bring their own replica during the procession.
