Sunny weekend in PH as no tropical cyclones in sight – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — This December, the country is forecast for a pair of tropical cyclones – but not this weekend. That’s according to the state weather bureau’s latest report on Friday.

“Sa susunod na tatlong araw ay wala tayong inaasahang bagyo na maaaring pumasok o mabuo sa ating area of responsibility,” said Raymond Ordinario, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

(For the next three days, we don’t expect tropical cyclones to enter or form in our area of responsibility.)

Saturday weather

Due to the irregular rainfall pattern, three weather systems are forecast to bring showers to various parts of the nation. According to Pagasa, the systems are the northeast monsoon or amihan, warm winds from the Pacific Ocean or easterlies, and the shear line.

Amihan will bring cloudy skies with light rains to Batanes and Babuyan Islands, while Cagayan and Isabela will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Easterlies will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Southern Palawan, Eastern Visayas and Caraga region.

On the other hand, Metro Manila and the rest of the country is expecting fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Pagasa did not raise gale warning in any seaboards nationwide.
