Olongapo City posts 3rd COVID-19 death in 3 weeks

OLONGAPO CITY — This city has recorded its third death related to COVID-19 in the past three weeks as local health officials struggled to maintain a downward trend in new infections.

Data released by the local COVID-19 task force said the latest fatality raised to 370 the city’s death toll on Sunday, Dec. 11.

The other COVID-19 deaths were registered on Dec. 9 and Nov. 30.

A new infection was also recorded on Sunday, bringing to nine the city’s active COVID-19 cases.

In the past days, the active infections stood between eight and 10.

Health officials are monitoring two more suspected virus-infected residents.
