8 wanted persons, 16 drug suspects nabbed in Quezon City – police

MANILA, Philippines — The police’s efforts to strengthen its anti-criminality campaign and its series of simultaneous manhunt and buy-bust operations led to arresting eight wanted persons and 16 drug suspects in Quezon City.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported on Thursday that 24 individuals were collared by personnel from various police stations. The police arrested all eight wanted persons in multiple areas on March 22, while the 16 drug suspects were collared in different locations recently.

Wanted persons

Among the wanted persons was Bobby Ortega, who was arrested in Barangay Bahay Toro for acts of lasciviousness. The personnel of Masambong Police Station identified Ortega.

On the other hand, Janella Dela Cruz and France Talino were apprehended for resistance and disobedience to persons in authority. The personnel of Makati City Jail Female Dormitory and Talipapa Police Station, respectively, identified them.

According to QCPD, the Novaliches Police Station personnel arrested Michael Bocario for resistance and disobedience to persons in authority and for violating Presidential Decree 1602 or the Anti-Illegal Gambling Law.

Sanim Gomonsang was apprehended by the Batasan Police force for violating Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act of 2004, while the Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station served a warrant of arrest to Neosan Tolentino for slight physical injuries.

Meanwhile, Brian Baroso was arrested by the personnel of Project 6 Police Station for violating RA 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016.

Lastly, operatives of the District Special Operation Unit collared the accused, Mark Anthony Dela Austria Sr., for violating RA 9262.

Drug suspects

Following the arrest of the drug peddlers, the authorities seized P131,920 worth of crystal meth or “shabu,” buy-bust money, and several drug paraphernalia.

Marlon Pinka; and Enrico Flores and Bernard Bengco were arrested and identified by the La Loma Police Station on March 22 in Barangays Balingasa and Paltok, respectively.

Also on Wednesday, three other suspects, Paolo John Ramos; Lou Santos; and Jolan Mendoza, were apprehended by the operatives of the Novaliches Police Station, while the Batasan Police Station arrested suspect Cris Ramirez.

Felix Bartolome was cornered by operatives of the Galas Police Station on March 23, while Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station apprehended drug suspects Andrei Belga, Esmaelo Nanding, and Robert Rebecca.

The Holy Spirit Police Station served a warrant of arrest to Jello Garcia. At the same time, Roderick Barogo; Marvin Abuyuan; and Nerio Uballo were collared by operatives from the Project 6 Police Station.

Meanwhile, Rose Marie Ornido was arrested and identified by the Pasong Putik Police Station in Barangay Kaligayahan.

The respective courts of origin of the warrants will be notified of the arrests of the wanted persons and drug suspects, the QCPD said.
