Man hurt in stabbing incident in Sorsogon

SORSOGON CITY—A 55-year-old man was injured in a stabbing incident on Wednesday, April 5, in Donsol town in Sorsogon province.

Donsol police report said the victim Calixto Abordo came out of his house in Barangay (village) Gimagaan to check the surroundings after his daughter noticed someone peeking through their window.

Abordo was using his flashlight to help him see in the dark as it was only 12:30 a.m. when the suspect, identified as Vivencio Abao, 45, a resident of Butuan City but currently living in Barangay Gimagaan, suddenly attacked the victim.

The victim received stab wounds in his left hand and face. He was immediately taken to the hospital for medical attention.

The suspect was arrested in Barangay Pangpang and Donsol after authorities launched a hot pursuit operation.

Abao is currently in the custody of the authorities for proper documentation and disposition.
