Early childhood educator named CCP’s new ad interim president
MANILA, Philippines — The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) has named Michelle Nikki Junia, an early childhood educator, as its ad interim president.
Junia was voted in by the CCP’s board of trustees on August 16.
“I am ready to channel all my energy and deep passion for the arts and arts education by playing a key role in the implementation of their programs,” Junia said in a statement.
Junia said her experience as the center’s immediate former vice chairperson and head of its Committee on Artistic Matters puts her “in a unique position to see the greater heights that can be achieved even further.”
Junia also vowed to carry on with the projects of CCP, among which is the “Kanto Kultura” program, a banner project of the center that seeks to encourage Filipinos to create artistic content by showcasing their innovation and creativity.
Junia replaced Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran-Floirendo, who now sits as the CCP’s ad interim co-vice chairperson together with Lorna Kapunan.
