PH logs 801 COVID-19 infections from August 21 to 27 — DOH

A total of 801 infections of COVID-19 were recorded nationwide from August 21 to 27, said the Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday.

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 801 infections of COVID-19 were recorded nationwide from August 21 to 27, said the Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday.

Based on the DOH’s latest data, the latest number is translated to a daily average of 114.

Thirteen infections — or 1.63 percent of the total cases — were tagged critical or severe, with active critical or severe COVID-19 admissions currently at 240.

On the other hand, six deaths were recorded by the DOH, all of which occurred in the past two weeks.

The utilization of ICU beds, meanwhile, is currently at 10.3 percent, while non-ICU bed utilization rate sits at 12.7 percent.

Citing the DOH’s online tracker as of August 29, the country’s total COVID-19 caseload is at 4,110,104, with 4,040,797 recoveries and 66,662 deaths.

Active infections are currently at 2,645.
