Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Director Gen. Gregorio Catapang Jr. relieved Davao Prison and Penal Farm (PPF) warden Supt. Rufino Martin for his belated report about the escape of inmate Jundee Ca帽o, 38, from the minimum security compound of Davao PPF on Sept. 13.
Ca帽o was eventually recaptured four days later, but Martin鈥檚 report only reached Catapang on Sept. 19.
鈥淯ntoward incidents like this should be reported immediately鈥� If there are any untoward incidents in various colonies, I don鈥檛 want to be the last to know, so this will serve as a warning to all BuCor officials,鈥� Catapang said.
Catapang鈥檚 term has so far been rocked by controversy following the escape of inmate Michael Cataroja from the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City on July 7. 鈥擠EXTER CABALZA
