INQToday: Leila De Lima granted bail, released from detention after almost seven years

Former Senator Leila de Lima has been released from the custodial facility of the Philippine National Police’s headquarters in Camp Crame after undergoing medical and physical examination.

Before her mandatory examination, de Lima greeted media members around 4:30 p.m. as she inched closer to her freedom.

While pointing out that justice came delayed for former senator Leila de Lima, several lawmakers welcome a Muntinlupa court’s decision to grant her petition for bail.

PTFoMS Usec. Paul Gutierrez said this is because the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) contributed P100,000 to the bounty on November 11.

Police say they have recaptured all nine escapees of Manila Police District Station 1 in Tondo.

The MPD said the arrest of the last escapee happened early Monday in Cavite.
