鈥楤ring the perpetrators to justice鈥�: Senate resolution condemns MSU bombing

Senator Joseph Victor Ejercito assured on Tuesday, Nov. 21, that the Negros Island Region (NIR) bill is not stuck in the Senate committee on local government.

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. JV Ejercito filed on Monday Senate Resolution No. 875 condemning the bombing last Sunday at the Mindanao State University and calling for the government to “bring the perpetrators to justice.”

“This act of violence against innocent civilians practicing their faith in a religious gathering is an act of terrorism that should be condemned in the highest possible terms. Such barbaric acts have no place in our society that the government so long tried to become peaceful and accommodating to all religious beliefs,” Ejercito’s resolution reads.

“[The Senate is] urging military and law enforcement agencies to undertake the necessary steps to bring the perpetrators to justice,” it adds.

According to the Philippine National Police, the explosion killed four people and wounded 50 others.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. vowed to bring “the perpetrators of this senseless act to justice.”
