MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Tuesday announced that 806 applicants were hired in the first three days of its 90th founding anniversary job fairs.
Seven more job fairs in various parts of the country are scheduled this month.
The DOLE said 6,138 job-seekers went to the 14 job fair sites across 12 regions nationwide on December 1, 2, and 4.Ìý
It added that 440 applicants were referred to the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority for skills training, 290 were referred to the Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns for livelihood assistance, and 167 were referred to the Department of Trade and Industry for entrepreneurship development.
2,056 applicants also availed government services from theÌý National Bureau of Investigation, Social Security System, Professional Regulation Commission, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Philippine Statistics Authority, and Pag-IBIG Fund.
