In a press conference on Monday, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning says Beijing will not “weaken its resolve to protect its territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.”

The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday said it recorded 24 more firework-related injuries, bringing the total to 52 less than a week before New Year’s Eve.

According to the DOH, the 24 injuries were recorded from 6 a.m. December 25 to 5:59 a.m. December 26.
