Marcos promotes long weekends

/ 05:12 AM January 05, 2024

In a Thursday post on his social media accounts, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. urged the public to plan their vacations and spend time with their families.

Under Proclamation No. 368, which he signed in October, there would be four long weekends this year, the first on March 28, Maundy Thursday, until April 1, Easter Sunday.

Another long weekend is set for Aug. 24, Saturday, until Aug. 26, Monday, followed by All Saints’ Day on Nov. 1 (Friday), All Souls’ Day on Nov. 2 (Saturday) and Nov. 3 (Sunday).

The last one will be during the holiday season, Dec. 28 (Saturday) until Dec. 31 (Tuesday). Dec. 30, or Rizal Day, is an annual regular holiday in the country, while Dec. 31, or the last day of the year, is a special nonworking day. —NESTOR CORRALES
