Phivolcs reports Taal Volcano in Batangas province emitted on Thursday another alarming volume of sulfur dioxide.
A total of 12,063 metric tons (MT) of SO2 from Taal’s main crater was measured over the past 24 hours and rose to 900 meters tall before drifting southwest, Phivolcs said in its bulletin Friday.
The total number of deaths due to a landslide in Davao de Oro’s Monkayo town climbs to 10 from the previously reported seven.
The Monkayo local government said in a statement that this was the latest data as of 3:00 pm.
