The local government of Malabon City advised motorists that heavy traffic may occur on some of its roads on May 18.

MANILA, Philippines — The local government of Malabon City advised motorists that heavy traffic may occur on some of its roads on May 18.

According to a Facebook post by the city, this is due to the Grand Sagalahan, which will be celebrated along with the city’s 435th founding anniversary.

The event will be conducted from 5:00 p.m. at the Malabon Sports Center to the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Immaculate Conception.

“Asahan ang mabigat na daloy ng trapiko sa kahabaan ng General Luna Avenue,” it said.

(Expect heavy traffic along the length of General Luna Avenue.)

The traffic advisory likewise recommended that vehicles from P. Aquino, Barangay Tonsuya that will be going to Concepcion/Hulo to go to Sanciangco Street, left of Governor Pascual Avenue, up to General Luna Avenue.

It also told motorists to take other alternative routes.
