Pagasa issues thunderstorm advisory for Saturday afternoon

Moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Pampanga, Tarlac, Bataan, and Batangas on Saturday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.

MANILA, Philippines — Moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Pampanga, Tarlac, Bataan, and Batangas on Saturday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.

In a thunderstorm advisory issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) at 4:30 p.m., it said that unfavorable weather conditions may be experienced “within the next 2 hours.”

Meanwhile, heavy to intense rain showers with lightning and strong winds are currently being experienced in some parts of Metro Manila, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, Cavite, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, and Zambales.

Pagasa said it may persist within two hours and affect nearby areas.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” the state weather bureau said.
