MANILA, Philippines 鈥� Imelda Marcos and her family celebrated her 95th birthday on Tuesday, July 2.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. greeted his mother and thanked her for teaching him and his children to be 鈥済racious, kind and compassionate.鈥�

鈥淗appy Happy birthday mom. Thank you for teaching me and your grandchildren to be gracious, kind and compassionate,鈥� he said in a Facebook post.

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos also greeted her 鈥淢ama Meldy,鈥澛� thanking the former first lady for being her 鈥渟econd mother.鈥�

鈥淭hank you for being a second mother to me. You are and always will be my first lady. [Love] you. Mean it,鈥� she said in an Instagram post.

Meanwhile, Marcos鈥� older sister, Senator Imee Marcos, described the family matriarch as the 鈥渆pitome of elegance and grace.鈥�

鈥淗appy 95th Birthday to the epitome of elegance and grace, the forever First Lady, my mom, Imelda Romualdez-Marcos!鈥� the eldest of Imelda鈥檚 children said in a Facebook post.

According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the Marcoses will have a 鈥渜uiet celebration鈥� of Imelda鈥檚 95th birthday with family and friends.

鈥淵es, there is a celebration, but it鈥檚 a quiet celebration with family and friends,鈥� the PCO told reporters through Viber.

Imelda, widow of dictator and ex-president Ferdinand Marcos Sr., was found guilty of seven counts of graft by the Sandiganbayan鈥檚 Fifth Division in 2018, but was not arrested due to her health and age.
