Pagasa: Wet, cloudy Thursday in most of PH
MANILA, Philippines — Overcast skies and rain are forecast in most of the country due to the combined effects of the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” and the low-pressure area (LPA) off Samar, according to the state weather bureau.
“Halos buong bansa ay nakararanas ng maulap na kalangitan na may pag-ulan,” said Aldczar Aurelio, weather specialist of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in an early morning weather forecast.
(Almost the entire country will have cloudy skies and rain.)
As of 3:00 a.m., the LPA was last spotted in the waters of Catbalogan City, Samar, according to Aurelio.

Aurelio added that the LPA will cause cloudy skies with scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms will prevail in the Visayas, Bicol region, Marinduque, Romblon, and Caraga regions.
Similar conditions are forecast in Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, and Quezon due to the trough or extension of the LPA.
The “habagat” will likewise cause the same conditions to Metro Manila, Bataan, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Northern Mindanao, and the rest of Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) and Mimaropa (Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan).
The rest of the country can expect fairer weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and only chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
No gale warning is in effect over any of the country’s seaboards.
