Classes in Bicol areas remain suspended due to effects of Enteng
LEGAZPI CITY — Classes at all levels in private and public schools in Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, and some parts of Albay remained suspended on Tuesday, Sept. 3, due to the widespread floods and landslides caused by Tropical Storm Enteng.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of Camarines Sur said in an advisory that based on the situational report on Monday afternoon, over 200 villages in 25 municipalities were still affected by flooding. At the same time, 24 spillways and eight roads were impassable.
Around 1,000 families were still in evacuation centers.
“The suspension also allows teachers and school personnel the necessary time to clean and restore flood-affected schools to ensure the safe return of students,” it said in the advisory.
