MANILA, Philippines – As part of its efforts to promote a deeper appreciation of nature and the protection of watersheds, Manila Water continues to encourage the public to enjoy the exciting outdoor activities that La Mesa Ecopark has to offer.

La Mesa Ecopark (LME), located in Novaliches, Quezon City, is considered one of the last lungs of Metro Manila because of its lush green forest that helps produce oxygen and aid in improving the city’s air quality, as well as preserve our water source.

“More and more people are visiting the park every day. As they enjoy the fun outdoor activities in the park, we hope they also appreciate the beauty of nature and take part in its preservation and rehabilitation. We’d also like to thank our partners, the MWSS and the Quezon City Government, for giving their valuable contributions to this project,” Manila Water Corporate Communication Affairs Group Director Jeric Sevilla said.

Manila Water Company (MWC), in partnership with the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) and the Quezon City local government, successfully opened the La Mesa Ecopark to double down on promoting environmental stewardship.

Under the supervision of the Manila Water Foundation, the management of the ecopark aims to contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs: SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
