MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.5 earthquake hit Cabangan, Zambales on Tuesday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
The tremor, Phivolcs said, was recorded at at 6:54 p.m., with its epicenter traced west of Cabangan.
It was of tectonic origin and had a shallow depth of 10 kilometers.
The earthquake was measured at Instrumental Intensity II in Iba, Zambales and Instrumental Intensity II in Olongapo City, Botolan and Masinloc in Zambales; Guagua, Pampanga and Dinalupihan, Bataan
There were no expected damage or aftershocks, Phivolcs noted.
Phivolcs earlier reported that a magnitude of 4.3 earthquake struck the waters of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur on Tuesday morning.
