Tropical Storm Kristine will make landfall in Isabela on Wednesday night, October 23 as it slightly accelerates while maintaining its strength, according to state weather bureau Pagasa.

Severe floods hit Bicol region due to Tropical Storm Kristine

Several areas in Albay have been severely affected by intense flooding as tropical storm Kristine (international name: Trami) continues to bring strong winds and heavy rains to the province and other regions of the country.

In its 11 p.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Kristine is packing maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (km/h) near its center and gusts of up to 90 km/h.

Storm Kristine affects over 382, 000 persons; 92 areas flooded – NDRRMC

Over 382,000 individuals nationwide are affected by tropical storm Kristine (international name: Trami), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Wednesday.

In its 8 a.m. situational report, the agency reported that a total of 382,302 persons, equivalent to 77,910 families, are affected by the bad weather, while one person was reportedly injured.

Quiboloy faces Senate probe on his alleged human trafficking, child abuse cases

Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy and his five coaccused were expected to attend a Senate hearing on Wednesday on the alleged abuses they committed against members of the religious sect.

This was after presiding Judge Rainelda Estacio-Montesa of the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 159 granted the request of Sen. Risa Hontiveros, the chair of the Senate committee conducting the inquiry, for Quiboloy, Ingrid Canada, Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Jackielyn Roy, and Sylvia Cemañes to attend the hearing.
