Signal No. 1 up in 14 areas in Luzon due to Marce

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 was hoisted over 14 areas in Luzon on Tuesday afternoon due to Typhoon Marce (international name: Yinxing), the state weather bureau said.

In its 5 p.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said TCWS No. 1 was up in the following areas:

Pagasa added that “the highest wind signal which may be hoisted during the occurrence of Marce is wind Signal No. 4.”

Pagasa said Marce was last spotted 480 kilometers east of Echague in Isabela while moving northwestward at 25 kilometers per hour (kph).

It slightly intensified, packing maximum wind speed of 130 kph and gustiness of up to 160 kph.
