PDEA vehicles ticketed for using Edsa bus lane

Vehicles belonging to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) were ticketed by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for using the exclusive bus lane on Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (Edsa) on Tuesday morning, Nov. 12.

MANILA, Philippines — Several vehicles belonging to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) were issued tickets by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for using the exclusive bus lane on Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (Edsa) on Tuesday morning.

DOTr’s Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) said the driver of an L300 van had a fake license and no registration for the vehicle.

According to the SAICT, the driver said they went through the busway as part of an operation.

In a statement on Tuesday afternoon, PDEA said, “The agency will not condone such action. An internal investigation is underway and rest assured that administrative sanctions await the violator.”

The SAICT referred the case to the Land Transportation Office to issue a show-cause order regarding the traffic violation.
