Marcos orders gov't agencies to boost aid in typhoon-hit Pangasinan

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered government agencies and local authorities in Pangasinan to intensify their efforts in providing aid to residents affected by recent typhoons.

He announced it during the distribution of P50 million in cash assistance to 5,000 farmers and fishermen, who were affected by typhoons that ravaged parts of the country.

“I am instructing our agencies and local governments to intensify the response to the needs of the Pangasinense,” Marcos said in Filipino.

“I am also instructing the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development and the Department of Social Welfare and Development to be diligent in providing temporary housing to affected families,” he added.

Marcos also assured typhoon victims that government agencies would continue to assist them until they fully recover.
