During an aid distribution activity in Isabela, Marcos said studies on the master plan of major river basins in the country are ongoing, particularly the Cagayan River Basin.

“Flood-control structures are also currently being built, such as the Tumauini River Multipurpose Project. It’s not just a flood, it’s not just flood control. It’s also going to help irrigate our farmers’ crops,” he added.

“Due to the changing weather and the strengthening of typhoons caused by climate change, the government is striving to alleviate the impact of these calamities, so we can avoid severe damage to life, property, and livelihood,” he also said.
