A magnitude 5.7 earthquake strikes Tarlac City on Thursday morning, November 28, 2024, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). In an advisory, Phivolcs said the tectonic earthquake hit east of Tarlac City at 5:58 a.m. and had a depth of focus of 199 kilometers (km). Initially, Phivolcs said the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.2 and a depth of focus of 174 km. MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck Tarlac City on Thursday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

In an advisory, Phivolcs said the tectonic earthquake hit east of Tarlac City at 5:58 a.m. and had a depth of focus of 199 kilometers (km). Phivolcs noted that this temblor may not cause damage to properties, but aftershocks may be expected.

Initially, Phivolcs said the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.2 and a depth of focus of 174 km.
