Fire hits theater in Cubao, Quezon City – BFP

MANILA, Philippines — A fire broke out at the ACT Theater along Aurora Boulevard in Cubao, Quezon City, on Thursday morning, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported.
According to the BFP, the blaze started at 6:26 a.m. and reached the first alarm at 6:37 a.m. It was declared under control at 8:09 a.m.
With the help of 35 firetrucks and 17 volunteers, the BFP declared a “fire out” at 11:05 a.m.
The fire originated from the ground floor of the five-story commercial building, causing an estimated P17.5 million in damage.
Article continues after this advertisementThree individuals were reported injured in the incident. Kristine Carandong, 22, sustained abrasions on her left elbow, while Juvirose Andan, 19, and Mamamo Roberto, 59, experienced difficulty breathing.
As of this writing, the cause of the blaze remains under investigation, the BFP said.
