Kanlaon Volcano emits 1,500 meter-high ash again, says Phivolcs
MANILA, Philippines — Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Island spewed ash on Tuesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs reported in a bulletin that the ash emission from the volcano’s summit began at 11:37 a.m. and lasted until 11:48 a.m., generating a dark plume 1,200 meters tall. It also resulted in ash rain over the south and southwest sectors of the volcano.
Before this latest ash event, four similar emissions also occurred in the volcano on Monday—one in the morning, which lasted for more than five hours, and three in the evening.
