Sorsogon cops nab ‘serial killer’ linked to death of 4 people
MANILA, Philippines — A “notorious serial killer” who killed four people on separate occasions was arrested by Sorsogon authorities, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said on Tuesday.
A man who was only identified by CIDG as alias “Michael” was arrested by authorities at Barangay Bororan in Donsol town last Dec. 21.
“Michael is known as a notorious serial killer, implicated in several heinous crimes,” the CIDG said in a statement.
His latest crime involved slashing the necks of two victims on Oct. 15, 2023, in Imus, Cavite, “without provocation.”
He was also involved in the stabbing of a resident in Imus, Cavite on Nov. 2, 2015, due to a “heated argument during a drinking spree.”
Article continues after this advertisementHe is also the main suspect, along with several cohorts, in the killing of a man in San Ramon, Donsol, Sorsogon, on September 11, 2012.
Article continues after this advertisementThe suspect was arrested by virtue of two warrants of arrest for homicide issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Imus City, Cavite.
One warrant was issued by Hon. Eduardo Cruz Solangon Jr., Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 125, dated November 13, 2024, with a recommended bail of P120,000 while the other was issued by Hon. Amabel Borbe Robles-Buenaluz, presiding judge of RTC Branch 20, dated August 24, 2024, with a recommended bail of P40,000.
