LUCENA CITY — More than P1.6 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) were seized from four suspected drug traffickers who were apprehended on Friday, Dec. 27, in separate buy-bust operations in Cabuyao City, Laguna.

The Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) reported that operatives from the Cabuyao police drug enforcement unit arrested “Anselmo,”“Raquel,”and “Nicko” at 7:10 p.m. after they sold a pack of shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay Casile.

The suspects yielded 230 grams of shabu placed in several plastic sachets and a knot-tied plastic bag valued at P1,564,000.

The police also confiscated a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspects in their illegal drug business.

The same operatives also arrested “Rolando” in another sting operation in Barangay Banlic at 11:40 p.m.

Seized from the suspect were six sachets of meth weighing 10 grams worth P68,000.

Anselmo and Racquel are listed on the police drug watch list as HVI or high-value individuals in the local drug trade. HVI are financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.

Police tagged Nicko and Rolando as street-level drug pushers in the locality.

The Cabuyao police are conducting further investigation to determine the source of the illegal drugs.

The suspects are under police custody and are facing complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
