PNP seizes P30 million worth of marijuana in Taguig
MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives seized P30 million worth of marijuana in two balikbayan boxes in Taguig City, said the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday.
According to the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) in a statement, the suspicious balikbayan boxes were personally turned over by two warehouse managers of UMAC Forwarders Express, Inc. its office in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.
The boxes were then inspected by the authorities where a total of 40 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing approximately 20,000 grams of Kush marijuana were discovered.

“The drug evidence, estimated at P30 million, was concealed alongside non-drug items, including canned goods, rice, and clothing,” the PNP-DEG said.
“All seized drug evidence will undergo forensic examination, while non-drug items remain under PNP-DEG custody for documentation and proper disposition,” it added.
