MANILA, Philippines — Five provinces in Luzon will experience moderate to heavy rains from Sunday to Tuesday, the state weather bureau said on Saturday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in its 5:00 p.m. weather advisory said that the rains will be triggered by the shear line, or the convergence of warm and cold winds.

Moderate to heavy rainfall (50 to 100 millimeters of rain) is expectedin Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and Albay from Sunday afternoon to Tuesday afternoon.

Pagasa warned that the rains may bring localized flooding mainly in urbanized, low-lying and coastal areas while landslides are likely in highly susceptible areas.

Pagasa also reported that parts of the country will experience cloudy skies and rains on Sunday due to the shear line, northeast monsoon or “amihan”, and easterlies.
